That kid of mine who won the showcase on The Price is Right in 2004 turns 22 years old today.

In my opinion kids are a priority. 

I wish I had always felt that way. 

In my thirties and forties as I was building my business, winning sales awards and buying Real Estate companies I behaved as if my kids didn’t exist.  When they started to act out, one of them failing school, the other just all too comfortable with my absence, I chose to scale it back and spend more time at home.

Fortunately my wife’s unconditional love existed for them.  Still it took after years of effort to heal the damaged relationship between them and me. 

One of my Clients took off a week recently to spend with her children.  When she told me that, her voice was apologetic as if I would disapprove, instead I told her, “Congratulations on making your children your priority.  I can help you build your business with a dozen weeks off each year.  The decision to raise your children with love and attention has to come from you.”
