Five Day Weekend

Many of you know that I am a strong proponent of time off.  I discovered a slightly new wrinkle to this.

We coach that everyone should take a minimum of a day a week, a three day weekend a month and two weeks a year with at least one of them being seven consecutive days away from the business.

There are strategies to all this that we coach.  What I wanted to share with you is a five day weekend.  I discovered it by accident.

We had a family wedding on Thursday and Bat Mitzvah on Sunday in Baltimore.  It required Chava and me to leave Thursday morning and come back Monday evening.  It was perfect.

First of all, it gave us five consecutive days in a row.  At the same time we were in town the prior week Monday through Wednesday and the following week Tuesday through Friday.

So we are going to add it to our “Quality of Life” portion of our coaching program.  I don’t know yet how many times a year we’ll recommend a five day weekend.  Try it this summer.  You’ll love it.
